Fifty posts.
Somewhere along the way, I hit that number… and didn’t even realize it at the time.
When I hit “publish” on that very first one, I had no idea what this would become.
I just knew I had stories.
Stories about where I’ve been.
Stories about the people I love.
Stories about the moments — big and small — that somehow stayed with me.
What I didn’t expect… was how much this would come to mean to me.
Writing these has been more than just documenting memories.
It’s been cathartic.
It’s helped me process some of the heavier moments… and hold onto the joyful ones a little longer.
And the response?
That part still surprises me.
The messages.
The comments.
The friends and family asking how to subscribe.
The people quietly reading along.
I see you. And it means more than I can say.
I’ve found myself trying to create a mix—
funny stories, meaningful reflections, everyday moments…
and of course, plenty of appearances from my sled-dog doodle, Maizey.
(Somewhere along the way, she became a main character.)
From a Michigan flag at Machu Picchu…
to stories at 35,000 feet…
to a quiet Sunday morning in Michigan…
I’ve realized the stories aren’t just in the big trips.
They’re everywhere.
And maybe the most surprising part?
I still have over 200 drafts waiting.
So if you’ve been here for even one of these 50 stories… thank you.
This started as something I was doing for myself.
A way to document my travels.
Somewhere along the way…
it became something I share with all of you.
And I’m just getting started.
If you’re new here — welcome. I’m really glad you’re here.
If you’ve subscribed, thank you! WordPress keeps your info private, so I may not know who you are—but I’m so glad you’re here.
And if there’s one thing these 50 stories have taught me…
it’s that the moments worth remembering are usually the ones we didn’t plan.
