The winds were so strong today that the captain had to cancel our stop in Toba.
With four-foot swells and a tender port, it simply wasn’t safe to bring us ashore.
So instead of exploring another Japanese port, we found ourselves in the middle of an unexpected sea day—somewhere between Tokyo and Osaka.
Naturally, we made the best of it.
My friends joined in on the fun, our hair took on lives of their own, and Helene’s giant foam head made a surprise appearance on my balcony in the middle of the Pacific. 😜😂
Because sometimes the best travel memories aren’t the ones you plan.
They’re the ones that happen when the wind changes your itinerary.
Tomorrow: Osaka and Kyoto.
Today: Big waves, bigger hair, and a whole lot of laughter.
