Go Blue Around the Globe: Hiroshima Edition 🇯🇵💛💙

Today was one of the most meaningful days of our trip.

We visited Hiroshima and stood before the Peace Memorial, a solemn reminder of the devastation of war and the resilience of the human spirit.

Later, in the tranquility of the gardens, I unfolded my Michigan flag for another “Go Blue Around the Globe” moment.

Different settings. Different emotions.
One unforgettable day.

From Hiroshima to Ann Arbor, the message feels the same:
May we learn from the past, cherish the present, and never take peace for granted.

Go Blue Around the Globe. 💙🌍🇯🇵

I remember being there and being a bit overwhelmed! The articles in the museum really got to me. Especially learning that people jumped into the water to escape the intense heat only to find that the water was just as hot. We need more peace around the world!

Yesterday 400 police officers stood outside of a synagogue very near to me. People were carrying Hamas and Hezbolah flags and protested with anti-Israeli sentiments. 3 people were arrested. My very quiet neighborhood was all over the news. There is too much hatred around the globe! Stay safe and enjoy more of Japan! When will you be home? Love, Helene
