Another Rough Day at Sea 😎🚢🀄🍨👨‍🍳

Cruising can be exhausting. 😜

Our “rough” day began with a 30-minute group walk around the deck to justify everything that came afterward.

Then it was on to breakfast, followed by a lecture and a cooking demonstration with the ship’s executive chef. Afterward, we got a behind-the-scenes galley tour and had the chance to meet the chef in person. Seeing the massive kitchen that feeds thousands of passengers was incredible—and the fruit and vegetable carvings were true works of art.

Lunch was followed by what has become our favorite sea day activity: mahjong by the pool. Naturally, we rewarded ourselves with towering ice cream sundaes, because apparently walking for 30 minutes burns exactly enough calories to make that seem perfectly reasonable.

Now we’re relaxing before dinner tonight at one of the ship’s specialty restaurants.

Tomorrow we visit Mount Fuji, and then it’s three days in Tokyo before heading home to the one face I’ve missed most of all—my sweet Maizey. 🐾💙

These past two weeks have been filled with unforgettable adventures, laughter, and wonderful new friendships. But as every traveler knows, no matter how amazing the journey, there is always something special about coming home.

By this point, I’m officially suffering from “vacation overfeeding syndrome.”

I have eaten my way across Japan, South Korea, and approximately every deck of this ship. Between the breakfast buffets, multi-course dinners, afternoon tea, ice cream sundaes, and the occasional “I’ll just have one bite” that somehow turns into an entire dessert, I am more than ready to get home.

Don’t get me wrong—I’ve loved every minute of this trip.

But I’m also looking forward to getting back to my normal routine: early morning workouts, long walks around the golf course, and following behind a certain sled dog doodle as she stops to sniff every blade of grass in Bloomfield Hills.

Travel feeds my soul, but home is where I get back on track.

And honestly, no buffet in the world can compete with the welcome I know I’ll get from Maizey. 🐾💙
