I Don’t Just Want to See the World. I Want to Play in It.

Somewhere along the way, I stopped behaving on vacation (and I’m not sorry)

Some people travel the world collecting beautiful photos.

I travel the world… apparently collecting evidence that I don’t know how to behave in public.

I didn’t really realize it until recently, when I started going through my travel photos.

At first, it felt random.
A funny pose here.
A silly moment there.

But the more I scrolled thru my photos… the more I realized:

This is a pattern.

This isn’t random.

If there’s a sign, I’m climbing into it.
If there’s a prop, I’m using it.
If there’s a frame, I’m standing in it like I just won something.
And if there’s a perfectly normal place to stand… I’m doing something completely ridiculous instead.

Somewhere along the way, without even trying, this just became how I travel.

I’ve been “wanted” in New Zealand.
I’ve turned into a wild animal in Tanzania.
I’ve posed under a skull like it was completely normal.
I’ve climbed into carts, frames, and probably a few situations I shouldn’t have.

And the best part?

My friends don’t even question it anymore.

At some point, they stopped saying,
“What are you doing?”
and started saying,
“Wait, let me get a picture.”

Because they know… this is just part of the experience now.

And honestly, these are the photos I love the most.

Not the perfectly posed ones.
Not the “stand here and smile” shots.

The ones where something is happening.
Where we’re laughing.
Where the moment is a little ridiculous and a lot memorable.

Because that’s what I’ve realized:

I don’t just want to see the world.

I want to play in it.

I want to interact with it, laugh in it, and sometimes make a complete fool of myself in it.

And if that means I end up with a camera roll full of ridiculous photos?

I’m completely fine with that.

Because those are the moments I remember.

And apparently… there are a lot of them.

Stay tuned. I’m pretty sure I’m just getting started.
