Still Going Blue After All These Years
Four women. Three days. Four food sensitivities. Two GI issues. One winery tour.
The other night, I had a Zoom call with my college roommates to get organized for our wine-tasting weekend in Traverse City.
We spent an hour discussing shopping for food to bring up north for a weekend where we already had dinner reservations, lunch plans, and wineries scheduled for most of the day.
Somehow, we still concluded that Jeanne might need a bigger vehicle. 🤪🍷🚙
Forty years after meeting in Ann Arbor, we were sitting in different cities discussing dietary restrictions, breakfast food, and a wine-tasting weekend in Traverse City.
Forty years ago, we could eat anything.
Today, half of us can’t do dairy, the other half can’t do spice, and everyone has an opinion about fiber.
But somehow, we’re still gathering around the same table.
The food has changed.
The friendship hasn’t.
And at some point during the weekend, we’ll probably all be wearing University of Michigan gear, reminding us where this friendship began.
Forty years ago we met in Ann Arbor.
This week we spent an hour on Zoom discussing fiber supplements, dairy sensitivities, and whether Jeanne’s car could accommodate enough snacks for a three-day weekend.
We may not be the same women who met on campus in the 1980s, but somehow we’re still showing up for each other.
And that’s worth making room in the car for.
From Juju with love 💙💛🍷

After a brief review of everyone’s knees, hips, backs, and balance, the motion failed unanimously.
