None of us knew much about Beaufort, South Carolina before today, but by the time we left, all four of us had fallen for this charming little town.

After an easy drive from Charleston, we settled onto the waterfront patio at Panini’s for a delightful lunch. Then we strolled through town for some window shopping and ice cream. So far, so good.

Then we stumbled upon the best surprise of the day: a one-hour golf cart tour of historic Beaufort. Our guide, Rick, was amazing. He brought the town’s rich Civil War history and movie connections to life, and we all agreed—the tour was 100% better than our horse-and-buggy tour in Charleston yesterday.

The Traveling T-Shirt Sisterhood was also out in full force! We wore the matching shirts Helene gave us for my 60th birthday trip to Niagara Falls last year and even recreated our group photo. Same shirts. Same seating order. A whole new backdrop.

Now we’ve arrived in Savannah and just met my former neighbor Kathy for a lovely dinner near our hotel. We sat outside and enjoyed a delicious dinner, the beautiful weather and great company and conversation!
We thought Beaufort would be a stop along the way. It turned out to be a highlight. What a lovely surprise of a day! 💕
